Is Concrete Lifting with Mudjacking Worth it?
Mudjacking involves pumping a dense slurry beneath sunken slabs. The process relies on several factors for success, including the slurry mix composition, soil traits, and the technician’s expertise level. Since these factors cannot be guaranteed, mudjacking may actually worsen settlement rather than resolve it.
Due to these uncertainties, many property owners do not believe mudjacking is worth it and opt for alternative concrete lifting and leveling methods. These alternatives provide more permanent repair and address the underlying causes of settlement, which mudjacking does not.
What is an Alternative to Mudjacking?
Polyurethane foam injection is an excellent alternative to mud jacking. This concrete lifting technique minimizes added stress on the underlying substrate, preventing further soil erosion and slab movement. Foam injection is chosen over mudjacking for these reasons:

Have cracks in walls and uneven doors, walls separating from ceiling. Contacted Mt Valley for an estimate. Dylan L. arrived on time and was very pleasant and professional. Did a great job of informing me what his company could do to fix. I found the bid expensive, so I had 2 more estimates. Both were lower than Mt. Valley- yet doing the same thing. The warranty states they do not guarantee that the cracks will come together, that the windows won't stick and that if any plumbing gets messed up it's all on me. Unfortunately all the foundation companies I contacted have the same warranty. Can't see the reason to hire a "foundation" company vs a general contractor to just add a support beam under this 1000 Sq ft house. Dylan is good at what he does, however I just can not afford "the best".

Jack Jeffords is THE BEST‼️‼️ He is very thorough and makes sure that you are well aware of what’s going on under your house. He takes his time and goes over everything with a fine tooth comb to ensure that every aspect of your home has been inspected and have been reviewed to ensure that there are no problems. And if there is a problem, you are aware of the problem and he gives you a plan of action to correct the issue.
