Schedule Free Inspection

Dealing with cracked or uneven sections of your pool deck? Are you concerned this might cause injuries to loved ones? A situation like this is brought on by soil issues caused during a drought, soil washout, or hydrostatic pressure – all of which displace soil and cause concrete to sink. Mount Valley uses PolyRenewal™ to remedy this issue permanently by removing soil issues from the equation.

How PolyRenewal™ Works

PolyRenewal™ should only be installed by specialists, as it demands specific tools and skills.  Here’s what to expect on installation day.

  1. Drilling Holes

The initial phase of PolyRenewal™ installation requires our team to drill penny-sized holes into your pool deck. The polyurethane foam will later be pumped into these tiny holes and expand underneath your pool deck. Plus, once the injection process is complete, these holes will be sealed again, becoming undetectable.

  1. Attach the Injection Ports

Next, our installation team will place mechanized injection ports into the penny-sized holes. These ports will allow the polyurethane to easily pass beneath your concrete and accurately fill in the proper voids as it expands beneath the pool deck.

  1. Injection and Expansion

Once the injection ports are in place, the actual injection procedure follows. Any spaces between your concrete and the soil beneath it are filled with PolyRenewal™ as it expands. Plus, the polyurethane material hardens rapidly, so you can get back to using your pool deck within the same day. Even better, the material is waterproof, meaning that splashing water from your pool won’t cause it to break down over time.

  1. Smooth and Seal Injection Sites

Finally, the tiny holes bored into your concrete are filled and smoothed out, as previously mentioned. When the process is finished, the holes will be virtually unnoticeable, and your pool deck will be restored to its original orientation along with new unwavering support. Now, you can relax around the pool the way it was meant to be!

What Makes PolyRenewal™ a Great Choice?

  • PolyRenewal™ cures in about 15 minutes, allowing you to use your pool deck immediately after installation. Other types of concrete lifting solutions take longer to dry.
  • Our polyurethane foam is completely waterproof once fully dried, so it won’t wash away when water comes from your pool or from precipitation.
  • PolyRenewal™ is safe and non-toxic. Because the polymer material does not emit toxic chemicals into your yard or water supply, you can rest assured that it will not affect your pool or the soil surrounding your pool deck.

Signs Your Pool Deck Needs This Solution

Uneven Concrete

Cracked, Uneven Pool Deck

Obviously, if any section of your pool deck is cracked or uneven, you should consider PolyRenewal™ as your pool deck repair option. Cracked or uneven sections become major tripping hazards for anyone in your home, especially children or seniors. PolyRenewal™ can remove this risk!

dry soil

Dry Soil and Drought

If the area you live in is experiencing an abnormally dry period, the soil beneath your pool deck could become dried out. When this happens, the soil shrinks in size and becomes brittle. It can cause the heavy pool deck to crush down into the weakened soil and lead to cracks in your pool deck.

heavy rain and outside flooding

Soil Washout

On the other hand, moisture can also cause your pool deck to sink into the soil. If too much water permeates the soil beneath your pool deck, the soil will become soft and weak. Like a car stuck in mud, your pool deck will sink into the wet soil. PolyRenewal™ prevents this from happening in the first place.

FAQs

DIY pool deck resurfacing isn’t recommended. Even crafty homeowners risk damaging their pool deck due to the difficulty of handling concrete. Fixing fractures with grout or sealer only provides a temporary fix and it doesn’t solve the main problem — soil issues. Only professionals can fix the soil under your pool deck and prevent further cracks.

Damaged soil won’t be able to sustain your pool deck because the concrete becomes too heavy. People, furniture, screens, and pool water add weight to pool decks and make it even harder for soil to support the concrete. All of these reasons can cause broken, uneven pool decks, especially if the soil below is damaged by some external factor.

A broken pool deck is a tripping hazard, especially for children. No one wants to risk their children getting hurt, especially if they fall into the water and can’t swim. Additionally, without repairs, your home loses appeal to potential buyers. Cracked, uneven pool decks should always be repaired to avoid injury and get the most value for your home.
